Website Review #1

Wesbite Name & Source: w3schools.com

Does the site's home page Validate?
No, the home page does not pass validation.
Find any other page on the site. Does the second page validate?
No, the second page I visited does not pass validation either. I went to "https://www.w3schools.com/where_to_start.asp".
Document how many validation errors and/or warnings may exist on each of the two pages
For the home page there were 6 validation errors and 3 warnings. For the second page I visited it came up with 10 validation errors and 3 warnings.
How would you rate the site's design, on a scale of 1(horrible) to 10 (fantastic)? Why?
I give it a 6 out of 10 for design. The reason for this is while it is well organized into certain categories. Even offering a "Not sure where to begin?" link at the home page right under where you would type in words to start a search. It still have allot of different colors going on for both pages I visited. For a home page I think there should be less colors. Alsp the colors didn't seem to have any methodology behind it. Seemed like someone just randomly decided certain things would be one color and another other colors.
How would you rate the site's usability on a scale of 1(horrible) to 10(fantastic)? Why?
I would again rate it a 6 out of 10 for usability. Same reasoning as the last question. It has good categorizing to navigate but the colors really throw you off even at the beginning. This I believe would make someone frustrated off the bat from the home page.
Does the site meet its purpose?
Yes it does. It has all the information one would need to obtain. It is also categorized nicely and has multiple ways to search. While the colors create a frustration problem and confusion. The site itself has all the information and a moderate user would be able to navigate and find the information they are looking for after a bit of time.
